Upcoming Tournaments

There are three more events this year that have been confirmed to qualify towards rankings and Invitational, with the cut off point being the 17th of October. Any events run after this period will count towards next years rankings.

GuardCon (Auckland)
Auckland City Guard's annual multi tournament event, GuardCon, is returning for another year, on the 24th and 25th of September.
This event will be hosting many different gaming systems, and thanks to Josh W and Evert L, T9A will be one of them.

A New Age (Dunedin)
The South Island will be seeing its first T9A tournament, as Jesse M hosts A New Age in Dunedin. It is great to see an event being held down South, and will hopefully lead to many more.
The player pack can be found on the Otago Miniatures Tacticians Society Facebook page, or on the 9th Age NZ Facebook page.

WarBanner (Napier)
This year will be the third year running of WarBanner in Napier, which has seen itself expand to three gaming systems. Its natural fantasy successor for this formally WHFB event is T9A, and is being run by Ethan P.
It will be held on 8th and 9th of October at Park Island in Napier.
You can find the player pack and more information under the Events section of:

Early bird prices for this event close Saturday 27th August, so make sure to get in quick to make the most of these rates.

Panzershrek 2016

This past weekend saw the annual Panzershrek tournament, held in Palmerston North. For the past many years, this long running iconic Flames of War event has also hosted a Fantasy alternative, and this year saw 9th Age taking it's first tournament spot in Palmy. Run by first time TO McCrae L, the tournament sported 10 competitors across the two days, with 5 2hr 45min games of 2500pts of 9th Age goodness.

The final standings are as follows. Unfortunately I do not have a copy of the Battle Points to share:

1. Sam W
2. McCrae L
3. Brian S
4. Tom C
5. Tom D
6. Ethan P
7. Curtis T
8. Adam R
9. Jade C
10. Thomas L

With the final results being:

1st:             Sam W
2nd:           McCrae L
3rd:            Brian S
Best Sport: Curtis T
Best Paint: Ethan P

Although I do not have a copy of the Battle Points, I can tell you there was literally one points difference between each of the top 3 players. It was also the second year in a row that Brian S has podiumed at Panzer, and Sam W has held onto his title of reigning Fantasy champion at this Palmy event, after his victory this year and last.

Another great event, and a huge well done to McCrae for pulling off his first tournament. I expect we shall see many more to come!

The rankings have been since updated to include the results from Panzer.

Upcoming Events: July

Good evening,

Firstly I would like to say how great it has been to see such a great community response to the 9th Age, and to see a rebirth in people's excitement in Fantasy gaming!

Kicking off on 5th July, Napier Executioners Club's Hawkes Bay Regional Championships 2016 is kicking off, and it is starting with The 9th Age. This will be the second year that this PlagueBearers sponsored event has occured, and numbers are already looking good for a small tabletop region. This event is run using a pool system, with heats, semis and finals, and is run over a course of a few weeks, with competitors arranging the games in their time. For more information, you can find the players pack here:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B2HkCXLSe9TUbC1NeEsyQ0wtNkE/view?pref=2&pli=1

On the 16/17 of July, the Manawatu will be host to Panzershrek, a long time running FoW tournament. However, as most of you know, Fantasy has always had tables at this event, and this year will be no exception! McCrae L will be running a 9th Age event there, 2500pts 5 rounds, and the player pack is looking good! This will be a great way to get some more games under your belt, and to help roll in some more points for the rankings! If you are interested, you can find the player pack here:

Again, until next time,
Peace!
